Maico Plastic coated filter cage for 1980/81 250/440/490.

Our robust plastic coated pressed steel frame has been specially designed to avoid the usual problems associated with the old style plastic, new replacement wire & gauze type frames.

Made from light guage steel means it will not become brittle over time as the plastics do.

The frame along with its soft plastic coating and combined with a b roader base alleviates the wire frame problem of cutting through the filter foam.

Probably the gauze type mesh frame restricts air flow by around 50% (in mesh terms it's called free flow) ours with its open design offers somewhere around 18% to 20% more air flow to the sides & approximately the same to the top as an original plastic type.
