Simon Gower set up ‘The Suspension Guru’ in February 2009, after realising a gap in the market for a more tailored approach to off road bike suspension servicing.
As a rider himself, he knew all too well the ongoing problems that he, along with his fellow riders experienced with setting up bike suspension to meet individual needs. With limited services available and very little information on hand, getting suspension serviced and maintained remained a big obstacle.
Having tried various bike suspension services himself, he recognised an opportunity to provide a suspension service that would be able to offer a more bespoke approach. He identified the biggest frustrations to be the lack of understanding by the service provider of what each individual rider wanted to achieve from their suspension, disappointment in the end result along with the delivery timescale and the lack of after sales care.
With over 26 years of bike riding experience, competing in both British and International Championships and in 2002, becoming the only person ever to win every race, every round leading to an undefeated British AMCA Championship title, Simon has a good understanding of what riders are looking for from their suspension set up. Not only with modern bikes, but as the 2006 Twinshock World Champion he also has wide breadth of knowledge with vintage bikes too.
Simon felt that a rider led suspension service with the option of trackside assistance to aid the most optimum set up process, a quick turnaround time and a first class back up support service would be very much welcomed by the off road biker community, thus ‘The Suspension Guru’ was born.
